Galbraith Family Record of the Galbraith Family
The family history of the Galbraiths, of whom Marion Galbraith was a member, is somewhat fuller than that of the Murdochs, though trustworthy records don't go back much further. Reports handed down from generation to generation of Galbraith suggest that as far back as 1577, three brothers of that name came either from the North of Ireland or Argyllshire (most evidence goes to show that it was the latter). One is said to have settled down in the farm of Milreoch, another in Merkland and a third in Lindston. The Lindston branch are said to have occupied that farm for over 250 years and down to 1857, with the exception of a short break about 1838.
